5 Pounds of golden potatoes thinly sliced sliced
1 cup yellow onion chopped
4 minced garlic cloves
1 teaspoon of Himalayan Salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons of butter
1/3 cup all purpose flour
3 cups of milk
3 cups shredded sharp cheese
Bacon and Parsley (Optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Butter a 9 x 13 baking dish
Slice golden potatoes thinly. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
In a medium size pan, melt butter over medium high heat add chopped onion and saute with minced garlic.
Reduce heat to medium and add in flour and stir.
Add in milk and continue to stir until thickened.
Start layering the baking sheet.
First layer: thinly sliced golden potatoes, second layer: is sauce mixture, third layer: is a layer of sprinkled cheese evenly dispersed. Continue to repeat these steps as desired.
Bake for approximately 50 minutes
If your cheese is slightly brown and your potatoes are soft your casserole is ready!
